I need a shell script that I can run in a cron job. Just the script I can create the cron process.
I am trying to get an online backup service going here, but none of them have applications that are selective in the way they backup data. To explain, I want to backup all of the graphics and projects folders inside our master project file folders. So for each master project folder there sub-folders with specific names that do not change. I just want to constantly backup the sub-folders, because that data is small and most important, where the whole project file is big and somethings are no important to back up.
So I figured a cron script would be the answer. I can have it run bi-hourly or whatever and have it create alias paths to the folders I want to back up. Then I can point the backup app to the directory with these alias folders and only back up that important data.
I would like the script to pull the project names from the "Big Kid Projects" drive and create the alias with the project name then inside that folder have alias to the "graphics" folder, the "editProjects" folder, "3Dprojects" folder, "compositeProjects" folder "audio" folder and "flash" folder. The folders are named the same in every project, but the project names are different.
When I add a new project it should just recognize that and pull the folders into the aliased project folder, like wise when I delete a project it would be gone from the results. I think that last part is a given.
