I'm an individual who has a lot of ideas for modifications to the game Don't Starve Together - but absolutely no talent when it comes to being able to create them. I feel this is a pretty common problem, and one that I'd like to solve with the help of a website.
While these character mods are complicated for somebody who doesn't understand coding, they're coded in LUA - a language made to be easily learned and used and a language that is absolutely required for you to know fairly well for this project. I'd like to create a website that allows you to decide what perks you'd like your character to have, their stats, and customize as much as possible without any human directly affecting the code. The website would allow visitors to check off certain boxes for certain (basic) perks, enter in certain values, and pick through certain (basic) visual features (faces, hair, ect) for how the character will look and function. Once the visitor has fully customized their character, the website would write the code for the character and provide a folder for the mod that would be as easy to install as moving it into the right directory, but only after they pay for it.
I'm aware this probably isn't the best description of what I want done, as it's quite hard to explain and not a very easy job, but it would be understood much better once you understand how to create mods for the game - something that, unless I happen to have found another Don't Starve Together player here, you'll most likely have to learn. That, in and of itself would not be difficult - especially for somebody who's already used to programming. I'm interested in automating that process though, and for you to automate it, you'll need to know how to do it manually.
I admit, I am very inexperienced when it comes to understanding anything having to do with programming, but from my research it seems entirely possible that this is possible to automate.
