I require a document and a script to control the backup and restore procedures of a XenServer. The scenario is the following:
* A single XenServer host, there isn't any other box to use it for a disaster recovery solution.
* The target locations to save the backup files could be an mobile drive plugged in directly to the host or a mounted external location (both options must be considered).
These are the requirements:
* A document containing a detailed description of the procedure to perform a full backup and restore of the XenServer host including all the VMs, host settings and VMs metadata. The description must include the steps to apply and the order to apply them, also must include the procedure to perform a restore in case of complete loss and partial losses (at least 2 scenarios).
* A script to automate the backup process, the script must work for the scenario described before. If the budget limit of this project is not enough to provide this script please clarify it and specify your estimation when writing your apply for the project.
XenServer version 6.5
The procedure described in the document must be using out-of-the-box (default) features of XenServer 6.5.
Third party solutions can be recommended/mentioned only if are Free or Open Source, they can be mentioned as alternatives and should not be a critical part of the standard process described in the document.
The documentation of the backup procedure has the highest priority and the script is below this.
Take in count best practices and your personal experience, include the references of all the sources you use, copy/paste info is not acceptable, the procedure must be as clear as possible and include all the steps to cover the full procedure described in the requirement.

I think I already have all the scripting done, but I also think that a wekk is the minimum to give you proper documentation. If you agree with me, please give me the opporunity to prove us both right.
