I'm looking for coders who are interested in tweaking a Network HDD-Recorder / Media Player. Source code is open under GNU GPL open-source license.
It's about AC Ryan's Playon!DVR TV, [url removed, login to view] - a HDD Recorder with TV Tuner (Digital & Analog), Network, Media player, HDMI, UPnP. I'm a user+reseller of these Playon!DVR TV, which works great and I suspect there is more power (abilities) in it untapped. Also, the user interface definitely can be nicer.
I'm not a coder - when I did coding in school, Linux did not exist yet, "objects" did not exist yet - so I do know coding concepts, just have not been updated for years.
I'm willing to pay a coder, however it's a hobby project so I'm sorry to say I can only pay "hobby-type fees" (please dont be offended).
If you find tweaking and customising Linux-based media hardware an interesting thing to do, has some spare coding time to fill, would be cool to hear from you. It can be mini-projects, little changes at a time.
Here is the sourcecode download [url removed, login to view]
Here is the AC Ryan's site where the download was placed:

As usual, the manufacturer AC Ryan does not provide any support for the source code.
For a start, I'd like the first project to be about customising the GUI interface (change the look of the GUI). Take a look at the product, the source code, and if you like to do it and can do it, leave me a message on pm.
