Use more than 1 Raspberry Pi, VM, physical server/computer, or cloud server to create several data collection nodes that report gathered data back to an independent/separate data source/server/warehouse and back that data up on another independent node. Each member of the group must configure and deploy a node, device, server, or service for the project.

Examples might include several Raspberry Pis with soil moisture or temperature sensors connected to them that collect data from the sensors and insert that data into a remote database that is backed up on another device automatically, or several devices locally serving up web forms to collect patient/customer or survey data digitally that then on a scheduled basis upload a report of the collected data to a centralized server with off-site backup.
