This project should be fairly quick. I am trying to create a bootable USB Thumbdrive which will need a graphics based bootloader menu. This menu should be based on gfxboot, and could be in either GRUB or syslinux (whichever works best).
The Theme will be based on this theme:
The end result will be a process for me to create, in bulk, the USB drives using Ubuntu 9.04. I will need the following methods and associated files to:
Install necessary files in Ubuntu so I can format the USB drive
Format and make bootable the USB drive
Copy the right .cfg or .lst file to USB drive
Explanation of how to edit the theme file (so I can change background image)
Copy the necessary edited theme files to the USB drive
So when booting is done from USB drive, this graphic menu will appear. I will develop the proper menu entries to boot into various utilities.
USB thumb drive will have a FAT16/32 partition and an EXT2/3 partition.
Budget is not high for this project. Cannot exceed $40.
Again, the end result is outline on how to do this procedure. You must create this procedure on your end and verify that it works before submitting to me. I suggest you try this procedure on your own, before placing a bid.
This is a link to a procedure I followed, but could not make work.
