Leica BLK360 / E57 – Floor Plans and Sections from Point Cloud We are looking for an experienced point-cloud specialist to assist with the processing of a Leica BLK360 G2 scan of a historic building in Austria. The building has approximately 1,200 m² and consists of: small basement with approx. 10 rooms/chambers and several stair connections ground floor with approx. 20 rooms 1st floor with approx. 25 rooms 2nd floor with approx. 25 rooms 3rd floor with approx. 25 rooms The building is historic, irregular and geometrically complex, with many small and interconnected rooms. Available Data The building will be scanned with a Leica BLK360 G2. We expect to provide a registered E57 point cloud, possibly also separate E57 files for each floor. Required Work We do not need a BIM model and we do not need the complete building redrawn in CAD. We mainly need assistance with extracting accurate 2D information from the point cloud: horizontal floor-plan sections for each level several vertical building sections possibly façade elevations orthographic point-cloud views where useful export of the results as DXF and PDF The DXF files will be imported into an old version of Nemetschek Allplan 2009, so compatibility with an older DXF format such as AutoCAD 2000 / 2004 / 2007 DXF would be preferred. Important: Live Screen-Sharing Session We would strongly prefer to work together via video call and screen sharing. The ideal workflow would be: You open the E57 point cloud in Leica Cyclone, PointCab, CloudCompare, ReCap or similar software. We review the building together via screen sharing. We tell you exactly where the required floor-plan and vertical sections should be positioned. You adjust the section plane live while we review it. Once the section is correct, you export it as DXF/PDF. This is important because the building is historic and irregular, and the correct section positions are easier to define together visually than by written instructions. Required Experience Please apply only if you have experience with at least some of the following: Leica BLK360 Leica Cyclone / REGISTER 360 / CloudWorx E57 point clouds PointCab CloudCompare Autodesk ReCap Point Cloud to CAD extraction of floor plans, sections and elevations Initial Test We would like to start with a small paid test of approximately 1 hour. For the test, we will provide part of the point cloud or one floor. The goal is to: confirm that you can open the Leica E57 correctly create one horizontal floor-plan section create one vertical section export a DXF that can be opened correctly in Nemetschek Allplan 2009 If the test works well, we would continue with the complete building. Please tell us: which software you would use your hourly rate whether you can work via live video call / screen sharing whether you have previously worked with Leica BLK360 E57 files whether you can export older DXF formats compatible with legacy CAD software We are looking for a practical and efficient workflow rather than a full Scan-to-BIM service.

Hello, I would be excited to support your historic building point-cloud processing project by extracting accurate floor plans, sections, and elevations from Leica BLK360 E57 scan data. I have experience in three-dimensional scanning, LiDAR and point-cloud processing, CAD extraction, and converting complex spatial data into usable two-dimensional documentation. In my previous project, Historic Building Point Cloud Processing and CAD Documentation, the mission was to transform detailed laser scan data into accurate architectural drawings while preserving complex existing conditions. My role involved processing point clouds, creating section planes, extracting floor plans, preparing DXF/PDF outputs, and ensuring compatibility with CAD workflows. For your project, I can work with Leica E57 point clouds using tools such as Leica Cyclone, CloudCompare, Autodesk ReCap, PointCab, or similar software. I can assist during live screen-sharing sessions to identify the correct section locations, generate horizontal and vertical sections, and export clean DXF files compatible with older Allplan versions. I understand the challenges of historic irregular buildings and will focus on accuracy, efficient processing, and practical deliverables. Thank you for considering my proposal. I look forward to helping transform your Leica BLK360 scan data into reliable architectural documentation. Best regards, James

Hello. My name is Kevin, and I am a point-cloud processing specialist with extensive experience handling Leica BLK360 data and extracting accurate 2D information from E57 files for historic and irregular buildings. I have worked on several similar projects, including a medieval church and a historic town hall, delivering floor plans, sections, and elevations. I am proficient in Leica Cyclone, CloudCompare, and ReCap, and I am comfortable working via live screen-sharing sessions to define section positions collaboratively. I understand you need assistance with extracting accurate 2D floor plans and vertical sections from a Leica BLK360 scan of a historic building in Austria, with exports in an older DXF format compatible with Nemetschek Allplan 2009. My approach will use Leica Cyclone or CloudCompare to open the E57 point cloud, and we will work together via screen-sharing to define the exact positions of sections. I will adjust the section planes live, and once confirmed, export the results as DXF and PDF. I can ensure compatibility with Allplan 2009. My hourly rate is €15 per hour, and I am happy to start with a small paid test. I am ready to start immediately. I look forward to collaborating. Best Regards. Kevin.

Hello, You need accurate 2D floor plans and building sections extracted from a Leica BLK360 E57 point cloud, with clean DXF and PDF outputs compatible with your legacy Allplan workflow. I can work with point clouds in software such as ReCap, CloudCompare or PointCab, define the required horizontal and vertical sections, and export them in an older DXF format suitable for Allplan 2009. I’m also comfortable working through live screen sharing so section positions can be reviewed and adjusted together. Also a quick question, will the initial paid test include the same registered E57 point cloud that will be used for the full building?

Hello, I’m a PhD researcher and LiDAR/point-cloud specialist based in France, with strong experience in high-resolution 3D point-cloud processing, registration, segmentation, geometric extraction, cross-sections and QC. For your project, I can work directly in CloudCompare with the E57 point cloud, define horizontal and vertical section planes interactively during a live screen-sharing session, and prepare the required DXF/PDF outputs. • Software: CloudCompare, plus Python tools if needed • Rate: €18/hour • Live screen sharing: Yes • BLK360 / E57: Strong point-cloud experience; my background is broader LiDAR processing rather than specifically operating the BLK360 scanner • Legacy DXF: Yes, I can export/test older DXF formats such as R12/R2000 and verify compatibility with Allplan 2009 The proposed 1-hour paid test is ideal. We can create one horizontal and one vertical section first, validate the DXF workflow, then continue with the full building. Best regards, Sid
