Debug a couple of files and rewrite a few lines of code

I'm running a non-profit edtech startup and there's a couple errors in my course_fetch API endpoint made in laravel. It should be a day worth of work you will be well compensated, with a possible offer of joining the core team.

The coding experience is very basic and a beginner in the aforementioned technologies should be able to do this.
