Hi - We have a function that has been scraping data from a HP order website for years, but all of a sudden thanks to a java update it no longer works. The function relies on a applet/jar as is, which as java gets updated, becomes unstable. So I want to be able to get away from this approach anyway. I need to update the function to use jquery/ajax if possible to go interpret the site and then re-package as a Json collection as the pass back if at all possible. If not, I need a different solution that will work. Our server architecture is ColdFusion, but I'm guessing JavaScript or jquery can be used to parse the data and create the JSON collection for us to implement. All in all, this should be a pretty straight forward scrape and normalize project. Thanks for your bids - John

hello, I am not familiar with coldfusion expert I am expert on jQuery/ajax. what I suggest is: -you let me study your current code -I'll debug and figure out how the old scrapping code was working and how it's passing data to your database -I'll study how data is structured on the hp site -I'll replace the old scraping code by my script and link everything so the scrpping will resume as it used to be I am ready to study the whole thing and to give it a little try before starting officialy

Hello sir, i already working with a similiar project which require update stock status from external website. To implement the system i'm using java to make a web service then host on a free cloud hosting (or VPS if you want) then i calling the web service with jquery to get the result in JSON format, that is how i do. I have 9+ Years of experience in web development. I have created about 300+ Application using ASP.NET/C#/PHP/Wordpress/ jQuery, Javascript, JSON, webservices, xml etc. Here is my proposed method to solve this: Right now the java applet might be making a connection to the server, instead of that we can use ajax using (jquery/javascript) and then request from the server data. The server component might have to be bit modified to returned JSON data Once we have the json data on our javascript/jquery end, we can do magics with it.
