Experienced Web Developer

Exciting US company seeking remote workers for Americas timezone. The Role The Developer Experience department is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our fast moving team in building our new Developer Portal. The Developer Portal is an internal web portal that will serve over 4,000 developers on a daily basis as the platform for collaboration, knowledge management, and self-service tools inventory. The portal will leverage modern web technologies and will be integrated with several key Bloomberg technologies. A successful candidate will excel at working in a cross-functional team (in an agile process) and be able to conceive and develop a web based solution that improves the efficiency our ever-growing development department. The role’s responsibilities include reviewing product requirements, assisting with technical and architectural design decisions, and executing with high quality in a fast paced environment. Qualifications Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience is required Minimum of 3 years’ experience building large scale, highly-trafficked web applications (full stack) utilizing Node.JS, JavaScript or Python Strong hands-on knowledge of browser-side technology such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTTP, cookies, and security Knowledgeable with Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari browsers and their various idiosyncrasies including browser performance and compatibility Fluency in test driven development, code reviews, error handling strategies for server side and client side errors Open Source contributions skills are desirable Experience working on a cross-functional team, in an agile development process is required Fluent English required
