You will have to participate of a software evaluation. The objective of this software evaluation is to get some information from the interaction of the user (you) with the IPS tool through an experiment that consist of a programming task. This task will simulate a real situation. You will have to build a program that uses the Apache POI API, an API to handle files in Excel format, and some classes of Java Platform API. You will use the IPS tool to perform the task.
The IPS tool is a code snippet tool integrated in Eclipse IDE. It was developed in the Post-Graduation Program in Computer Science of Ufscar Sorocaba - Brazil (PPGCCS) in the line of research of Applied Computer Theory for a master dissertation.
To accomplish the task, it is provided an enviroment with the IPS already installed. This enviroment consists of a pre-configured Eclipse Kepler with the Java Runtime Environment 1.7 (JRE 1.7). It has all necessary configurations for you to accomplish the task and it has a set of code snippets that you will have to use during the task.
You will have to:
- Read a text that contains the details of this process (about 1500 words)
- Watch a video in order to understand the IPS tool (about 10 minutes).
- Download (about 350MB) and install the enviroment with the IPS already installed.
- Install e setup the CamStudio to record your interaction with IPS during the task.
- Carry out the task without interruptions (from 45min to 120min).
- Fill a questionnaire.
- Upload some files (video recording and source files) resulting from the programming task (about 500MB) to a shared folder in Google drive.
