I thought this was ROR before, but it's Merb.
This involves some fixes and additions. Mostly fixing and connecting elements. I need it done in 4 days.
hr Search ((4hr Job)
When users register they are initially asked a series of questions to fill in fields on the Profile page. We are going to add one additional radio button that says: “4hr Minimum” that users can click on for themselves;
On the Splash there will be a search. This is the general search that's already built. Add a little icon with a radio that people can click on that says 4hr minimum. The search results are the same except that users who have opted to be a 4hr person come up first and the icon is next to their name.
The Door Search (Foot in the Door)
On the Splash pg as well as a link on the nav; click the “Door” link in the nav to bring up its own page with a search bar. 2 fields: First is occupation, 2nd is company name then submit.
The result: lists of people that are your references or their references and so on. The search is going through your references and theirs. Each person input their occupation and company's they've worked for in “Work History”, which is on the profile page.
In the results next to their name and occupation is “send a short note”, click on this and a small mssg box opens. They can type and send. The user will get this mssg and know whom its from.
Give / Get (Job Karma)
There may be an algorithm built already for this called “Whuffie”. It works this way. On the Profile page; each person enters information about themselves when they first register including their occupation – or “what do you do” and location. That info is there already.
For this Give/Get widget there are three fields that users – who are logged in can enter: job title, location and contact info. They then click return or submit
Once a user has input a job, the system checks to see if a job that matches their “what do you do” that someone else posted in their location is available; if so users are sent a response, noted in the sidebar as “Get”; Click on that and the listing pops up or on a new page. The result should have Job, location, contact --- whether that information has been input or not.
the search -- which 2 of these items work around is working
the third may be called Give/Get in the files... on the beta there is merely a placemark for it
obviously dont make a new search, use the existing one for the 2nd "occupation", "company" search -- just create a new results page
just make sure it works on the results side... thats it
