I am currently looking for a strong Java/Servlet/JSP programmer
to develop a thin client interface using Tomcat/MySQL.
This web (thin client) interface will be HTML created dynamically
from servlets hosted in a Tomcat Engine. The HTML will be driven
from data that resides in a MySQL data base.
The current DB schema consists of roughly 30 tables. 15 of which
are used for cross-key references to other tables.
The Web Front End will allow for the management of meta data that
will support a Point of Sale application.
Objects that will managed(added/edited) via the web front end:
Users (servers, employees, managers),
Categories, MenuItems, Printers, Currencies, Customers,
Tables (the kind of table at which a person eats), TimeSets,
Venues, Cost Groups, Modifiers, Terminal, Vendors...
This data is then used to drive a Rich Java client that acts
as the POS application for creating transactional data.
The DB schema is already well documented, and the relationship
of the tables should be self evident.
It is hoped that the programmer can simply look at the DB schema
and intuitively realise the how the work-flow of the Web Application
(the GUI) should be designed.
I would need to speak to the programmer for 30-60 minutes each day
to answer questions and provide guidance. So voice access is a must.
Furthermore, it will be incumbent on the programmer to provide
a subdomain for hosting the service for my test/eval.
My thoughts are that this initial project will require 40-50 hours.
I will send DB schema with sample screen shots of what I envision the web interface to look like.
