Lead generation can be through both organic and paid campaigns both in social media and search. Search is more expensive, and more to the point. There is a set up through which search goes and delivers leads to a business. This is mostly through paid search. Adwords, PPC. They are one of the best ways to generate leads apart from email campaigns. However we need to collect email also for starting email campaigns, that in itself will be a lead generation campaign.
If you need direct sales lead generation, it is better to go for lead generation through search. For all other similar work Facebook lead generation or LinkedIn lead generation is fine. They are very good secondary support lead generators from where you get the email ids for campaigns, you get some additional leads for your main business, direct for sales, you get brand leads, you improve customer life and spread brand name.
