Looking for an illustrator with good Tagalog dialogue-writing skills to create a single comic strip with at least 4 frames. The nonprofit group organizes urban poor Filipino lesbians into self-advocating communities empowered to fight against discrimination in housing, medicine, and the workplace, as well as to uplift themselves and their families and make lasting improvements to their environments. The comic strip should address issues that are relevant to urban poor lesbians with poignancy and humor. The successful bidder will have an awareness of both the politics and experience of sexual minority status, in addition to a modern sense of illustration. Lesbians in particular and other women are expressly encouraged to bid. I'd love the comic strip to become a full series of graphic novels, so the strip will need a title and a protagonist, and the storyline should be bold and engaging enough to make readers want to see more.
Hello Jenny! I'm a native Tagalog speaker currently residing in Manila. I worked at an ad agency and have experience with conceptualization and storyboarding so I feel I would be a fair fit for your project.
