I am looking for a Minnesota-licensed mechanical/MEP engineer to handle the HVAC/mechanical design for a commercial daycare renovation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The project involves an existing building with an existing AC/HVAC system. I would prefer to keep and reuse the existing system if it meets the applicable requirements, rather than replace it unnecessarily. Scope of Work I need the engineer to: Review the existing floor plan and proposed remodeling plans. Determine the applicable Minneapolis/Minnesota mechanical and HVAC requirements for the daycare. Evaluate the existing HVAC/AC system and determine whether it can remain. Identify any HVAC/mechanical modifications that are required. Determine ventilation requirements and perform necessary heating/cooling load calculations. Prepare the required mechanical/HVAC drawings and documentation for the permit. Coordinate the mechanical design with the proposed floor plan and remodeling work. Advise what information needs to be collected during a site visit. Provide permit-ready documents and, where required, professional engineering certification/seal. Site Visit A local site visit may be required to document the existing HVAC equipment, ductwork, capacities, controls, and other mechanical information. If you are not located near Minneapolis, please let me know if you can coordinate with a local HVAC technician or provide a detailed checklist for the site information you need.

Hello, I can review the existing HVAC system and develop a permit-ready mechanical/MEP package for your commercial daycare renovation in Minneapolis. I have over 10 years of experience in HVAC design, commercial renovations, load calculations, ventilation, ductwork coordination, and permit documentation. I can evaluate whether the existing system can remain, identify only the modifications that are actually required, and coordinate the design with the proposed daycare floor plan. My scope can include heating/cooling load calculations, ventilation requirements, equipment and ductwork review, mechanical plans, schedules, notes, and permit documentation. If a site visit is needed, I can provide a detailed checklist for documenting equipment, duct sizes, controls, capacities, diffusers, outside-air provisions, and other existing conditions. Where Minnesota licensure and project requirements allow, I can also provide the required engineering certification/seal and support permit review comments. Best Regards. Maksim Ilnitsky

Greetings, I can provide mechanical engineering support for your commercial daycare renovation in Minneapolis, including evaluation of the existing HVAC system and preparation of permit-ready mechanical documentation. I would begin by reviewing the existing building plans and proposed remodeling layout, then evaluate the existing HVAC equipment, capacities, distribution, ventilation, and controls against the requirements applicable to the proposed daycare use. Where the existing system has sufficient capacity and compliance potential, I would prioritize modifications and reuse rather than automatically specifying a complete replacement. Necessary heating and cooling calculations, ventilation requirements, ductwork changes, equipment information, and mechanical details would be coordinated into the permit package. If a site visit is required, I can provide a structured field-verification checklist or coordinate with a local technician to collect the necessary information. Share the available architectural and HVAC documents, and I can begin with an initial mechanical assessment.
