Should hopefully be straight forward. I have HTML files used by a program that auto-creates pre-populated emails that are opened up and then (possibly modified) and send Microsoft Outlook.
However, the initial HTML templates were originally created with Microsoft Word, so are very messy and whilst open and display ok in Outlook, once out of Outlook, they do not play nice or work well with web mail clients like MailChimp or ClickDimensions. Formatting breaks etc.
The emails need to look OK in Outlook AND online.
There are 5 template, all pretty much the same as each other (so once you do one, the others are the same or just cut down versions) They just need cleaning up.
There is Custom code that goes in certain parts, but these are well flagged and just insert plain text.
The process is:
1. Take HTML template
2. Insert pre-populated text
3. Open file in Outlook
4. User edits (inserts text/pics) if needed
5. User sends/'beams' email to MailChimp/ClickDimensions to then uses that to send on to client database.
Things to consider: all styles must be inline the HTML. There are Logos that also need to be included.
