Looking for coder interested in graphics and data visualisation to develop an app for visualising email.
WIRED UK the increasing interest of the life tracking trend- how tracking information about oneself can feel very rewarding.
Email is arguably the most popular tool online. It's interface is purely practical- a list of emails sorted by date.
How about having some fun with the data in your inbox? If you can see via a graph, how many emails you've received from A. How many emails entitled B. Or if you could scroll through time and see the graph contract and expand. I can imagine the graphs appearing on life-tracking websites, or linked to them, in the larger scheme of things. Once designed, this interface could also (hopefully!) work for SMSes, bank statements etc.
The whole system should also come with a website that allows people to upload their graphs onto it.
I've uploaded some information onto my blog under the title Email Plants.

What I can do so far is to think through the architecture of the app, but unfortunately, I can't code. So here's the deal: If you can code this into an iphone app or web app, we'd split revenues 50-50. I would still like to be involved in thinking through and ironing out the bugs of the app. But generally you'd have to work out the programming bit. Hopefully we could work out other great projects together!
