Repopulating image links to jpgs throughout Indesign document
Using the historic document, I would like you to relink all the images to jpeg versions of the same images.
The documents I will supply have been created by converting a legacy quark file into the latest version of InDesign . Because the files were so old, some of the images linked do not have a file extension. I had done an ‘update links’ myself and encountered a few problems: missing jpg files, files with no file extensions (for instance 090.435 instead of [login to view URL]): files with no file extensions had problems relinking to a file with the same file name with a jpg extension, some files linking to a truncated version (for instance files ‘080.266’, ‘080.008’, and ’080.564’ all shortened to ‘080’) to do this correctly you will need to keep an unedited copy to make sure all the newly linked images look correct.
I will attached all the images I have, jpegs and other formats.
***Some images may need changing from psd, eps, tiff or bitmap into JPG format***
I would advise initially linking to the folder named ‘CATALOGUE DONE’ and ‘jpegs 59-200’ to get yourself started.
This work needs to be done and double checked by eye to make sure the wrong images are not attached.
I need this work doing as soon as possible.
295 pages need images relinking on this project.
There is no practical way I can send a test file because the image bank is too big.
Do you think you can send me the file link? I mean the main link the big one with everything you got. I want to check the files to understand what exactly needs to be done. Let's have a chat if you are interested.
