We are a group of partners starting a new venture called FrontDoor. FrontDoor's mission is to create happy homes where people living in residential care can thrive. At FrontDoor, we are creating a range of fully accessible pre-fabricated smart-homes for elderly and infirm people. Each smart-home will be a studio-sized living space to include an open plan bedroom, living room, kitchen and wet room. Built-in monitoring and assistive technologies will allow residents to live much more independently, while providing the peace of mind to care professionals and families that loved are safe. We are focussing heavily on beautiful design and simple-to-use technologies in an all-in-one package that can be delivered, installed and occupied at a fraction of the time that it takes for traditional brick-and-mortar construction. The smart-homes will be situated in the grounds of existing and new residential care developments as a living option for people who benefit from close care support, but can live independently by themselves.
