I will add more information, but I wanted to get a placeholder.
Here is a basic rundown of the software.
This is an electronic version of a worldwide pin board. Many businesses keep a map of the world in their business and then have guests put a pin where they're from.
This is a split screen application. On a large screen TV display, we will display a Google Map of the world showing red pins where each person is from (or the last 150 set in an admin screen).
On the bottom screen is a touch screen display so guests may enter in their information.
We need to capture name, email and city/state/country where they're from.
At the end of the night, the information is gathered in a csv and sent to an admin email. These emails are loaded into Trip Advisor to ask for a review of their visit.
The original software was done with an out-of-date version of visual basic for windows. We would like to make the program faster and make sure it's ready to work with the Google Maps API. The original programmer also hard-coded much of the information (like the "from" email which went away when he left the company). We want to be able to modify this information either in an admin program or file.
My first question is, do you want me to write up or do you want to look at the crappy Visual Basic original software?
hi, Thanks for the invite. Lets discuss this project on a separate thread. also please share the screenshots of previous application and if possible also share the application's executable.
