I am a digital magazine publisher. I create pdfs, flvs and swf files which I upload to YUDU Publishing. The pdfs are converted by YUDU to flash files and then I use their user interface to overlay flv and swf files to create digital magazines.
I need customized "viewers" or "players" that I can upload as swf files - the player will need to have the particular media (a flv, an mp3, a Flash game) already embedded before I upload as a swf file. YUDU requires that the swf files be Flash8 and Actionscript2.0
I would like a player that will pop up, either upon mouse click of a symbol or upon roll over, and gray out the background, play the media within, perhaps having a control button or two depending upon the inserted media, and then close with an X button once the reader is finished looking at the media.
I don't know any Actionscript and can use Flash minimally to alter things and create simple animations. I would ideally like to be able to insert the various media into the player myself - I'm sure I could cut/paste code into a certain spot, to play a certain file, if that would be necessary. As I hope to use a lot of different media in my magazines, it would be best if I could insert media into the players using Flash myself. Please let me know if this will not be possible as that might change things considerably.
I might like to eventually customize these players for the look of an individual magazine. I use Mac OSX with Flash CS3 at present.
