Flex 3D Builder & Viewer Development Requirement

1. Goal : 3D Builder and 3D Viewer

2. Working Procedure

2.1. All the 3D jobs should be done with an ordinary 3D tool like 3D MAX Studio and the final output will be exported to .ASE format.

2.2. 3D Builder loads and shows .ASE format.

2.3. 3D Builder applies map sources to 3D objects or adds image file links to 3D ones.

2.4. 3D Builder saves all the data to its own format, .S3S called SIRI 3D Space.

2.5. 3D Viewer loads and show .S3S format in its 3D space. If the 3D objects have the liked image files, it shows the correspondent images.

3. 3D Builder

3.1. It loads and shows an .ASE format in its 3d space.

3.2. It applies all the related .DDS texture images to the 3D object based on the name of the object from “res” folder under its starting place if there is a 3D object whose name starts with “_ms”.

• Use “[url removed, login to view]” file if the name of the object is “_ms1_desk”.

• Use “[url removed, login to view]” file if the name of the object is “_ms2_vase”.

• Skip if any related file.

3.3. It moves, rotates, zooms in and zooms out the 3D objects screen.

3.4. It adds image files to 3D objects like faces and meshes.

3.5. It saves all the data to .SRS format.

4. 3D Viewer

4.1. It loads and shows a .SRS format.

4.2. It behaves the same way as 3D Builder if there is a 3D object whose name starts with “_ms”.

4.3. It moves, rotates, zooms in and zooms out the 3D objects screen.

4.4. It shows a hand-shape mouse pointer over the object which has a linked image.

4.5. It shows the linked image if the object has been clicked.

5.1. 3D Builder Screen

• 3D MAX Studio shows the below scene if it loads the provided sample .ASE file.

• 3D Builder should show the below scene according to 3.2

7. Etc

7.1. DDS format rules

• Save a DDS image without Alpha Channel as DXT1 RGB(No Alpha).

• Save a DDS image with Alpha Channel as DXT5 ARGB(Interpolated).
