Improve FLV CD-Rom performance.

I have produced a Quick CD-Rom using Flash to playback 2 FLVs;

1x 40mb FLV file

1x 43mb FLV file

Both FLVs are loaded into a movie clip that is held within a full screen Flash ([url removed, login to view]) projector.

Everything works fine on high-end PCs/Mac using a buffer time of 0.1, however when the spec is lowered there are performance issues, like glitching audio, staggered visual playback.

Does anyone have any idea/advice/theory/practice on how to over come this issue so that the FLV playback is optimum across all platforms.

I am reluctant to simply reduce the quality of each FLv, although I know this may need to be done, I would like to avoid it if possible and capitalise on your knowledge about how to do this using a possible different method.
