Virtual CFO, US & Australian GAAP Reporting, MIS & Finance Automation

Project Overview- We are looking for an experienced Virtual CFO / Finance professional with strong expertise in US GAAP, Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), financial reporting, FP&A, management reporting and finance automation. The objective is to establish a robust finance and reporting framework that provides management with accurate financial information, cash-flow visibility, forecasting, budgeting and actionable business insights. The project will involve reviewing the existing finance function, strengthening financial reporting, developing management MIS, establishing forecasting and budgeting processes, improving finance controls and automating recurring reporting. Scope of Work- 1. US GAAP & Australian GAAP Financial Reporting • Review the existing accounting and reporting structure • Map accounts to appropriate financial statement classifications • Prepare/review P&L under US GAAP and AASB • Prepare/review Balance Sheet under both frameworks • Prepare/review Cash Flow Statement • Identify relevant recognition and classification differences • Establish an appropriate dual-reporting methodology • Develop reconciliation between US GAAP and AASB where required 2. Management MIS Develop a comprehensive management reporting package covering: • Revenue • COGS • Gross profit • Operating expenses • EBITDA / operating income • Working capital • Accounts receivable • Accounts payable • Cash position • Profitability • Key business KPIs • Variance analysis Include management commentary on significant movements and financial performance. 3. Budgeting & Forecasting • Develop annual budget framework • Prepare monthly/quarterly forecasts • Develop budget vs actual reporting • Perform variance analysis • Develop base, upside and downside scenarios • Provide management insights and recommendations 4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Develop a rolling cash-flow forecast covering: • Opening cash • Customer collections • AR movements • Vendor payments • AP movements • Payroll • Taxes • Operating expenses • Capital expenditure • Financing activities • Closing cash Review working-capital drivers and identify opportunities to improve cash conversion. 5. Virtual CFO / Finance Advisory Provide management-level analysis and recommendations relating to: • Profitability • Cost optimization • Pricing and margins • Working capital • Cash requirements • Financial risks • Growth planning • Business performance • Scenario planning 6. Finance Processes & Controls Review and recommend improvements to: • Accounts Payable • Accounts Receivable • Expense management • Payment approvals • Bank reconciliations • Month-end closing • Journal entry controls • Financial reporting • Documentation • Segregation of duties Develop practical SOPs and checklists where required. 7. Dashboard & Automation Develop an interactive reporting environment using appropriate tools such as: • Excel • Power Query • Power BI • VBA • Python The objective is to reduce manual reporting and make recurring management reporting easier to maintain. Final Deliverables- The completed project should include: 1. US GAAP financial reporting framework 2. Australian GAAP/AASB reporting framework 3. Dual-GAAP reconciliation/reporting structure 4.
