Tailored Apparel Design Collaboration

About the brand I am launching CALIX, a women’s fashion brand centered on modern tailoring and structured wardrobe essentials. The first drop, CALIX Tailored, will focus on women’s suits, complemented by a small selection of elevated blouses designed to integrate seamlessly with the tailoring. The aesthetic is clean, architectural, and restrained, with an emphasis on fit, proportion, and material quality. These pieces are not trend-led, but intended as timeless wardrobe foundations. Scope: CALIX Tailored – First Drop The initial collection will include: 1. Tailored blazers (2–3 silhouettes) 2. Tailored trousers (1–2 silhouettes) 3. Optional matching skirts or vests 4. Blouses or structured tops (1–2 styles) The blouses should be minimal and refined, pairing effortlessly with the suits. Design interest should come from cut, neckline, or fabric rather than embellishment. They should avoid overt femininity or trend-driven details and feel elevated enough to stand alone while still functioning as part of a uniform. Design Focus 1. Strong but wearable structure 2. Clean lines and precise construction 3. Thoughtful details rather than embellishment 4. Pieces that function both as complete sets and as individual staples 5. Neutral, timeless colour palette Collaboration Approach I have several specific design ideas and references in mind that I would like to explore collaboratively with the designer. This role will involve translating existing concepts into refined designs while also contributing thoughtful input to shape the final silhouettes and details. What I am looking for in a designer - Experience in women’s tailoring and structured tops - Strong understanding of fit, pattern development, and garment construction - Ability to translate direction and references into cohesive designs - Experience creating production-ready tech packs - Comfort collaborating with manufacturers and pattern makers during sampling Deliverables 1. Design sketches for each style 2. Full tech packs (measurements, construction details, materials, trims) 3. Support during the sampling and fitting process 4. Revisions based on sample feedback Brand Vision CALIX Tailored represents authority without stiffness. The goal is to create a refined uniform for modern women that feels confident, composed, and understated. Longevity and fit are prioritized over trends.
