Subroutine writen in Active Server Pages (Classic) that copies a dataset from Access (or SQL) to an Excel File.
Sub TransferToExcel(rs, OperationType, ExcelFileName, ExcelTabName)
rs = INPUT (a open record set (either in Access or SQL) that contains the records
to export to Excel
OperationType = INPUT ‘N’ for new file or ‘A’ to append to the existing file. File name is given As ExcelFileName
ExcelFileName = INPUT (a fully qualified Excel File Name – with an extension of .XLS or .XLSX). If the file name already exists, and OperationType=’N’, it is deleted first (without prompt). If the file does not exist, it is automatically created (even if OperationTYpe=A)
ExcelTabName = INPUT (resulting tab that the record set information is exported to. If the ExcelTabName already exists in the ExcelFileName, it is deleted first
The input record set has a variable number of columns. The field name should be used as row 1 of the Excel file as the column headers.
The routine must be able to run on a Windows 2003 Server with Access AND on a Windows 2012 Server with SQL. Connection String must be saved in Application("ExcelConnectionString")
