US Native Speakers for AI Speech Project

We are looking for pairs of native English speakers from the United States of America to participate in an AI speech research project. The task involves recording natural, unscripted conversations with a partner. These recordings will be used only for AI speech training and research purposes. You need to find a friend for the conversation with you for the project. Important Eligibility Requirements : Participants must be native English speakers who grew up in the USA and learned English as their first language. Applicants who were born or raised outside the USA will not be accepted, even if they currently live in the USA. USA natives currently living abroad are also welcome to apply. We are specifically looking for participants with authentic native USA accents. Conversation guidelines: -Conversations must be fully natural and unscripted -Reading scripts, monologues, or prepared text is not allowed -Participants should talk naturally and freely, letting the conversation flow - Each session should cover different topics, such as: daily life, movies, travel, hobbies, technology, culture, current events The conversation should be fairly balanced between both speakers. In a 1-hour conversation, each participant should speak for around 30 minutes. It does not need to be perfectly equal, but both speakers must actively participate. If a pair records 30 hours in total, the speaking time should be roughly 15 hours per participant, with only small differences allowed. Large imbalances where one participant speaks significantly more than the other may lead to rejection during review. Recording Sessions : Each session should typically be 20–60 minutes, Sessions can occasionally be slightly shorter or longer, The minimum total recording requirement is 8–10 hours per pair, The maximum total recording limit is 30 hours per pair, The total hours can be completed by combining multiple recording sessions. Recording Platform: All recordings will be completed inside our provided recording platform. Participants will join a short meeting before starting, where we will explain the project workflow. Participants must have: Native US English accent Quiet recording environment No background noise Wired headphones or wired earphones (required) Bluetooth headphones or wireless earbuds are NOT allowed Computer, laptop, or smartphone with a working microphone Stable internet connection Recordings containing background noise or poor audio quality may not pass QA review. Payment: $10 USD per hour per participant Example: If a pair records 1 hour, each participant receives $10 Payments are processed after recordings pass the QA review process.
