Project Description I am building a kids companion robot that works completely offline and focuses on emotional presence, play, comfort, and routine not AI, not chat, not smart assistant behavior. This project is emotion-first, deterministic, and safety-focused. I am looking for an experienced embedded / firmware developer to help implement the behavior engine, emotion logic, audio playback system, and mode handling on a microcontroller platform. Key Principles (Very Important) No AI No machine learning No free conversation No cloud processing of voice Rule-based, predictable behavior Offline-first system Emotion-driven reactions Child-safe & privacy-safe design If your expertise is mainly in chatbots or AI assistants, this project is not suitable. Good day. Very interesting project. Interesting to do something for kids. Some of my past work you can look in my protfolio. I have experince in few CADs for many CPU/MCUs. > Approach you would take for an emotion-based state machine At first, voice recognition and trying to detect emotion of user. After that program must to try should somehow engage the child in the game or calm him down with its actions. I understand - its a long-term project with few phases. So, it can be divided in few milestones. Also i can build prototype and test it: I have someone to check with. I guess this project take about 2 months with overall price near $4k. Again, it can be splitted in milestons: hardware, prototyping, base firmware and so on. PS. Confirmation: i'm not a bot.
