The power supply circuit in the battery charger is rated for 120V.
I am aware that the two of the Capacitors and Varistor need to be changed over to 400V capacitors and a suitable varistor. When these three components have been changed the charger operates well as it should, but it is also a little hotter, which can be felt on the outside of the case.
Unfortunately with this modification the battery charger worked for only 2 months. The battery charger still turns on but when the battery is placed on charger, within 5 seconds the charger flashes its lights that there is an error. The same battery charges as it should on another charger.
I would like to know;
1. Which component(s) have failed in the charger after its 2 months of use.
2. What replacement component(s) should be used for the component(s) that have failed.
3. Should the above fail in resolving the chargers short lifespan I would like further solutions to fix the issue.
