I recently shipped a desktop app that builds a Windows installer and one signed Mac DMG for both Intel and Apple Silicon. It's a clinical measurement app in Tauri and React that reads a USB device. It keeps a session alive through a pulled cable and reconnects on its own. I've also moved a legacy app onto offline-first two way sync, so the sync bugs are familiar ground. How I'd approach it: 1. Get the project building clean on both platforms, add crash logging, and reproduce what users report. Fixes go in as small commits, one per issue. 2. Add the filtering, quick export and update checker. The updater ties into signing, so I'd set that up once and properly. 3. Refresh the UI last, on top of a stable base. One thing to plan for. A signed DMG that opens without a Gatekeeper warning also needs Apple notarization. That runs under your Apple Developer account, so I'd need access to it, or you'd run that one step.
