I have a collection of historic “Bombay Presidency” cadastral tippans that include their original base-line measurements and a series of handwritten offsets. I want to transfer these sheets into a clean, georeferenced layer inside QGIS through a custom plugin rather than drawing every feature by hand. What the tool must do • Offer fully customizable digitization tools: while tracing a baseline, the plugin should let me enter each offset (distance and side) and automatically draw the resulting parcel edges. • Work in a single, fixed coordinate system that I will supply at the start of the project—no need for on-the-fly reprojection. • Export the finished geometry to a Shapefile with all entered attributes preserved. Deliverables • Compiled QGIS plugin (compatible with QGIS LTR 3.x) • Source code (Python / PyQGIS) with clear inline comments • Short PDF or markdown user guide showing installation, the digitizing workflow, and the Shapefile export step I will provide sample scanned tippans, the coordinate reference to use, and a small set of test measurements so the workflow can be validated.
