For your proposal your will need to review relevant literature so that you can develop an demonstrable understanding of the subject matter you are proposing to research and can refine the focus of your future research.
This review will then feed into the background section of your proposal explaining the issue you are researching and its significance. It may also shape the methods section. Ultimately, your examination of literature during this module should also contribute to your larger-scale work when you work on your third year dissertation.
For the portfolio of work you will must submit with your written proposal, you will need to provide some evidence of the literature search you have been undertaking.
