Ive been trying to build a solution to organise my plumbing business using Filemaker pro. I have created some tables and sorted out some of the relationships and portals between them. Although its working (mostly) I need it to do more and from reading the missing manual book I know it could all be a lot more streamlined and efficient. The layouts are also not very pretty (hey Im used to using a wrench) and have to be printing.
What I would like is a solution that keeps track of customers,suppliers,jobs(time & materials)sand other expenses. It also will track and alert me to payments due and accounts payable and be able to prepare & print invoices using information from the job card portals.
Other items required will be an estimating/quoting facility,stock control and a drag and drop scheduler / calender.
I have some of these solutions already that I built using Excel so if they can be integrated into Filemaker thats great.
I dont mind how much of my existing work needs to be changed or thrown out as long as its affordable and effective.
