To collect raw data of buildings in areas known as Belfield and Kampung Attap in Kuala Lumpur:
(1) PROFILES OF HIGH-RISE RESIDENTIAL:
Information to collect: Types of residents (mostly owner-occupiers? Old families? Racial composition? Rental mostly? Office workers working nearby? Retail workers in Bukit Bintang? Workers in KL Sentral? Construction workers nearby? Racial composition of office workers)
Location: OPUS, Menara Belfield, Bangunan Choo Cheng Khay (City View), Merdeka View Apartment, Sam Mansion and Impian Kota.
Methodology: Get the information from the security guards. If the security guards unable to provide the information, ask the management office (a letter will be given to you).
(2) PROFILES OF OFFICE WORKERS
Information to collect: Estimated total number of office workers, estimated racial composition, list of major tenants (if any) and types of offices (Banks? SME? Services? Professional offices? Government offices? Etc.)
Location: Wisma Mirama, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Bangunan Koperasi Polis, Wisma Pahlawan, Wisma Tun Sambanthan, Menara Takaful Malaysia and Bangunan Public Bank.
Methodologies: Get the information from the receptionist on the ground floor or the security guard.
(3) PROFILES OF HOTEL GUESTS
Information to collect: Total number of rooms and profiles of hotel guests (locals, foreigners, tour groups, backpackers, business travellers)
Location: Regal Park Hotel (formerly Midah Hotel), I Lux Hotel (at i-Hotel) and Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown
Methodologies: Get information from receptionist, security guard or concierge.
It should be 1 to 2 days’ work. All properties within walking distance. Data collection to be conducted on weekdays.
