I have an Excel workbook that tracks recurring charges. All raw entries live on the “data” sheet; the “Upcoming transactions” sheet is meant to show what’s on the horizon. Right now I type a reference date manually into one cell on that second sheet, and I’d like everything below it to update automatically. Here’s what the improved sheet must do: • In the "data" sheet. Add an automated column "Next Payment Date" - based on the frequency selected it should auto-enter the next payment date. For example, if the date of transaction is 03/12/2026 it should enter next payment date as 04/12/2026. It'll be a one time thing so it doesn't need to generate every month's payment date like 04/12/2026, 05/12/2026 etc. Because when the next charge goes through bank I will enter that one into "data" sheet which will then create next month's expected charge date. • Read the date I type in “Upcoming transactions”, pull every charge from the “data” sheet "next" payment date" that falls within the next 30 days, and list them immediately—no refresh button, no extra clicks. • Apply a yellow conditional-format highlight to any of those charges occurring in the next 7 days of the date I type in "upcoming transactions". Everything else inside the 30-day window should remain un-highlighted but showup. • Re-calculate and re-apply the highlight the moment I change that top-cell date. • This file will be in SharePoint • Do not disclose any information on the file I’m fine if you solve this with dynamic array formulas, Power Query, VBA, or any mix; I just need it to be reliable and easy to maintain. When the work is done I should be able to drop a new transaction into “data”, type any date I want in “Upcoming transactions”, and immediately see an accurate, color-coded preview of the next month’s charges. Deliverable: the updated workbook with clean, commented formulas or code so I can tweak it in the future if needed. Deadline - By Midnight 05/20/2026 PST

Greetings, I see you're looking to streamline your Excel workbook for tracking recurring charges. You want the "Upcoming transactions" sheet to automatically update based on a reference date and highlight upcoming charges, making it easier to manage your financial planning. To tackle this, I would create an automated "Next Payment Date" column in the "data" sheet that calculates the next payment based on the frequency you've set. I’ll set up a real-time connection between the sheets, ensuring that when you enter a date in "Upcoming transactions," it pulls relevant charges from "data" without any extra clicks. Additionally, I’ll implement conditional formatting to highlight charges due within the next 7 days, recalculating whenever the reference date changes. With my experience in Excel, VBA, and data management, I’m confident I can provide a reliable solution that meets your needs. Best regards, Saba Ehsan

Hi, I can make this reliable in SharePoint by using Excel Tables, structured formulas, dynamic arrays, and conditional formatting instead of depending on VBA macros that may not behave consistently online. I’ll add a clean “Next Payment Date” calculation on the data sheet based on each transaction’s frequency, then make the Upcoming transactions sheet automatically filter and list charges within 30 days of your reference date. The 7-day highlight can be handled with rule-based conditional formatting tied directly to that same date cell, so it recalculates instantly when the date changes or a new transaction is added. I’ve built similar Excel automation workflows for recurring data, filtered views, date-based alerts, and maintainable reporting sheets. Your workbook data will remain confidential, and I’ll keep the formulas/code commented clearly so you can adjust it later if needed.

Having recently built a dynamic cash-flow forecasting model in Excel that automated recurring SaaS subscription renewals, I know exactly how to turn your raw "data" sheet into a clean, forward-looking projection of upcoming transactions. Managing recurring schedules—whether weekly, monthly, or irregular—requires robust date-math logic so your forecast remains accurate without manual formula updates. I can seamlessly map your historical billing frequencies to generate precise upcoming payment schedules that update dynamically. To achieve this, I will first normalize your raw "data" sheet using either Power Query or dynamic Excel array formulas (`FILTER`, `SEQUENCE`, and `LET`) to parse different recurrence rules without slowing down your workbook. Next, I will design a dedicated "Upcoming Transactions" ledger that automatically expands upcoming dates based on a user-defined date range (e.g., next 30, 60, or 90 days). Finally, I will implement a clean data validation layer to handle edge cases like end-of-month billing alignment (such as leap years) and add a summary view of upcoming outflows. Do your recurring charges have defined end dates, or do they run indefinitely until cancelled? I would also love to know if you prefer a pure formula-based approach or an automated Power Query/VBA solution for easier scaling. Let's open a quick chat to align on your Excel version and current data structure—I am available for a brief call if you would like to screen-share and walk through your file.

Hi there, I see you're looking to enhance your Excel workbook for tracking recurring charges. To improve your data handling, I can implement Excel VBA to automate data processing and create visualizations that make the entries easier to analyze. Using macros will streamline repetitive tasks, ensuring your data updates seamlessly and is easy to interpret. I'd start by assessing the current structure of your “data” sheet, then focus on creating the necessary scripts to automate the updates and visualizations. Q1: What specific types of visualizations are you looking to include? Q2: Are there any specific data processing tasks you want prioritized? Q3: How frequently do you expect to update this workbook? Let’s get this project moving!

Hey, I can start now. ✅ I’ve worked on something very similar. Managing upcoming transactions in Excel can be tricky. The challenge lies in automating the process of updating the "Upcoming transactions" sheet based on a reference date and highlighting charges within specific timeframes. I recently developed a similar solution for a client where I implemented dynamic array formulas to calculate and display upcoming payment dates efficiently. While I haven't worked on this exact scenario, I have experience with automating data manipulation tasks in Excel using VBA and dynamic formulas. I would approach this project by setting up automated calculations for the next payment dates and implementing conditional formatting for highlighting upcoming charges. Let's chat! -Dorofii

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅Hi there, hope you are doing well! I recently completed a similar Excel project where I automated payment schedules and dynamically filtered upcoming transactions using formulas and VBA, making the system effortless to update. From my experience, the key to successfully completing this project is ensuring seamless automatic recalculation and conditional formatting that respond instantly to date changes. Approach: ⭕ Add an automated "Next Payment Date" column in the "data" sheet calculating next charge based on frequency. ⭕ Use dynamic array formulas or VBA to pull transactions falling within 30 days after the typed date in "Upcoming transactions" sheet. ⭕ Implement conditional formatting to highlight charges within 7 days in yellow. ⭕ Ensure all calculations and highlights update immediately on date change without extra steps. ⭕ Provide clean, well-commented formulas and VBA code to allow future tweaks. ❓ What exact payment frequency options need to be supported for "Next Payment Date" calculation? I am confident I can deliver a robust, easy-to-maintain workbook by your deadline with all requested features working smoothly. Thank you for considering my proposal. Best regards, Nam
