Hi - Reading the JD i believe you have some technical background. Some of the aspects I like include: flexibility for pivot table or dashboard, keeping everything within excel, restriction of row count around 50K (beyond that excel will take a hit on performance). Aspects where I need clarity are: How will you share the database, which db server are you using, will there be a read only user Id to be used for connecting. Anyone who uses the excel tool will be able to see the password with some digging. Moreover it is ideal to work with a copy of your production database. Coming to KPIs I believe all the data required for computing the KPIs will be present in the database and you will be able to provide clarity on what is what.
