Wrong guess, wrong data, and nothing looks broken. Should Apr-2024 be text, or a real date displayed as mmm-yyyy? They look identical in the cell. Text sorts alphabetically - Apr, Aug, Dec. A formatted date sorts and pivots correctly. Since you mention pivots, I would go with the second unless you say otherwise. One more thing I would check on arrival: exports often carry non-breaking spaces, CHAR(160), which TRIM does not remove. The column looks clean and lookups still fail. That is usually the actual cause of the problem you are describing, so I clean both. How I would build it: Power Query, one query per rule, refreshable. You drop in next month's file, hit Refresh, and it runs again - that is the repeatable process you asked for. Original columns stay untouched, new ones sit beside them.
