I need a custom google map that would overlay some demographic information of Los Angeles county area by color-coding each census tract based on the data. It will be very similar to this map and it will use the same data source:
[url removed, login to view];q=select+col0+from+1EShaXTHvm57F5LDfNQmzt9Selp5wymSWm5MnXze&h=false&lat=34.035462275095504&lng=-118.48507101791506&z=8&l=col0
But instead of only using 2 colors (red and blue), it'll use more shades based on the intensity of the data (similar to a heat map). It also will provide the data on each tract itself instead of having to click on the tract to see the data.
I've attached a sample sheet that I created in Photoshop showing how I envision the final product to be. I don't have access to the source data but since this is census I assume it's publicly available on the US census website.
Please let me know if you think this is possible, and if you're interested.
