iPhone, Objective C Job by hol42
Budjetti €200 EUR
Hello,
How are you? Hope you remember me. You programmed a branch finder about 2 years ago.
I need an app that allows the user to convert pictures into text. The idea behind it is to allow the user to use the text in a text message or e-mail.
There is a free windows program [url removed, login to view] which has to be reprogrammed in objective-c for iphone (maybe ipad later).
There is some software around that has GPL license and can be googled under terms like "Ascii art", "text to image" in github. I do not want you to copy illegally. I want you to write the program again but maybe the code inspections helps you to write your own program.
Basically the bitmap must be gone through pixel by pixel and dependent on the darkness another text character must be chosen. As long it is a font with same width it is still pretty easy. It needs a bit of thinking how to arrange for it when the font is not proportional. But I think this is also doable. There is a windows software that does it good, if you could have a look: [url removed, login to view]
Basically the GUI is that the user chooses either a photo from the library or takes a photo out of the app. Then this is converted and with 2 sliders the size can be changed. I guess we need a contrast functions, too. The font used is the same as in the Message app of the iphone. I don't quite know what font type it is, but i guess you can figure it out.
Then the user can press send, then is asked if by text message or by e-mail (maybe later we add a post to facebook and other means). There is a very similar app already existing called "real world app" which is not very good but gives you an idea. In github is the full sourcecode for something, called iphone-ASCII. Let me know how much you want. I gave it a rough estimate.
Regards,
Jürgen
