I have 2 Excel files - one weekly report (which is an extract from another piece of software containing timesheet data) and one other summary report file.
I would like you to build a macro button that queries data from "Extract", updates values in the "Report" file, and updates a field to indicate the last time the macro was run. Once the core function works, we can add features like;
- check to make sure the function is not run twice on the same data (otherwise we increment values every time someone clicks the Macro)
- check to make sure the Extract file is open and accessible
- save the Summary file prompt with a new name based on the date
I have the 2 files as a template. There are actually 10 different Report files but they all read from the same Extract file, but if it works with 1, it will work with the others - they are identical.
