Produce Heroku-ready Ruby gem of Coin-Or CBC c++ library

I have written a header file that calls some methods from a c++ library (CBC - it's a mixed integer linear programming API, though this is not very important). I have managed to produce a swig wrapper, compiled a bundle using mkmf, and used it successfully. However I've struck a problem and simply don't have the time or know-how to debug. What I'd like a willing Freelancer to do is produce a rake task that automates the building of a gem. It should 1. Not depend on CBC being pre-installed. It should either download the tarball from CBC, or it should include a precompiled library of CBC that can be used anywhere. 2. Be published on rubygems as freely available to anyone. 3. Be easily changed - the header file I've written is limited. I'd like to be able to alter it and re-submit the gem. 4. It must be able to be added to a gemfile, deployed to heroku, and run. The issue I ran across is that calling the function CbcMain1 from the rails console works fine, but when I do it from within a server, I get a stack full thrown. No idea why. For a seasoned rails-er, this should be a simple task. I am not, so it's not, for me.
