We operate an E-News and looking for news brief writers (ghost writing only) for our news and directory social website. The site is currently in pre-alpha mode and will be live in a few weeks. The site’s readers/users are predominantly from the insurance & financial industry and the site is a specialty insurance and financial news/articles venue for insurance professionals only. The insurance professionals include insurance carriers and insurance agencies work force in United States and UK. The news features are about the national and fifty states insurance events including legislative events, 50 states departments of insurance press releases, and major economic & financial news. Occasionally, insurance and financial news articles may be needed.
The task involves writing and rewriting of daily news briefs around 300 words per copy pertaining to “property and casualty”, “life & disability” and “health” insurance news. Rough number of news stories ranges from 20 to 35 per week. If you would please search the term “insurance” in the Google News and get a better idea as to the nature of insurance news prior to submitting your bid.
We’ll provide you with the news leads as they come off the press 24/7. If the lead is submitted to you in the morning, the turn-around time for the news brief from the time you receive the lead from our office during the day time may not exceed four hours. And if the leads are forwarded to you after 5:00 P.M., U.S. Pacific Time, the copies are due by no later than 3:00 A.M., U.S. Pacific Time the next day.
An example of a news story would be the recent AIG bailout by U.S. Government. A good example for an article would be the effects of financial meltdown on the insurance carriers. As to the article topics, technical insurance issues, claims, sales, IT, legal issues, ethics and marketing are areas of interest which we’ll be posting articles about. Turn-around time for the articles may not exceed five days. At this juncture, we are more interested in news writers rather than article writers. If you can handle both, more power to you.
Press releases, marketing letters, and other types of copywriting are also needed. The job is a long term endeavor and we are looking for good writing and service. American English and journalism background are preferred but not required.
A short sample paragraph of your writing on any recent U.S. national insurance news would expedite the selection process.
We pay $1.00 per news brief and $1.00 for every 300 words for articles. Articles range from 600 to 1200 words per copy.
