hello, marketing is the one genre where a correct translation is usually a failure. a hook that reads perfectly and is faithful to the French will land flat in English, and nothing on the page tells you that, because it looks like a success. so the skill worth building is not vocabulary, it is knowing when to abandon the source sentence entirely and write a new one that does the same job. that judgment is what coaching should target, and it is why terminology drills would make you accurate and dull. the two directions are also not symmetrical. english social copy is shorter, blunter, and leans hard on the imperative, while french resists that compression and runs roughly fifteen to twenty percent longer, which quietly breaks ad character limits and button labels. and your french has to settle on tu or vous once, as a brand decision, not per post. how i would run a session: you translate a real caption, then we compare it against three of mine, one literal, one adapted, one rewritten from the brief, and we work out where your brand's line sits. the glossary grows out of those decisions rather than being made up front. your posting is in French, so I have written in English. which markets are the two audiences, and is your English UK or US? is your brand's French tu or vous? have a nice day.
