This project is to produce a play based on the novel King Coal by Upton Sinclair, (public domain). This play is for our community theater group.
We need to adjust the format of the novel to a script style:
- take dialogue from novel format to script format
- put descriptions in script format so we can set up stage directions
- break down the chapter and section format of the novel into a script format of Acts and Scenes
Here is a brief example, if you're interested in this project, I can send you more information/templates, IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT WITH A LITTLE PROGRAMMING, THAT'S PERFECT!
CURRENT NOVEL FORMAT

the ground, and shouted above the rattle of the cars: "Big dust!" Hal
saw that the ground was covered with six inches of coal-dust, while on
the old disused walls one could write his name in it. "Much blow-up!"
PROJECT IS TO CHANGE THIS FORMAT TO SCRIPT STYLE

(Looking slightly confused the young man approaches a tobacco stand)
(In as surly a voice as he can muster)
Can you tell me how to get to the Pine Creek Mine?
