************* Rides Again
It was another spectacular event for **** as we celebrated our 2nd annual motorcycle rally. A day filled with appetizing food, contagious laughter, and roaring motors. Varying breeds of bikes including Hondas, Kawasaki, Yamahas, and yes, even some Harleys were present again for this year’s rowdy bike rally. Those of us who were not riding were also there to help support this year’s event by assisting with registration, setting up tables, and preparing the food. Others were just well wishers sharing in the festivities.
Pastor led this year’s group of men and women. All of which were from different chapters, organizations, and denominations, yet sharing a common bond which is the love of riding. Before hitting the road, they joined in prayer, thanking God for the opportunity to gather in His name, and asking for safe passage. With the wind at their backs, they journeyed across I64 through the Monitor Merrimac tunnel that covered approx. a 20-mile radius. For the veteran, this year’s excursion held a sense of excitement and exhilaration. Yet for the novice, who were inspired by last year’s motorcycle rally, there was a sense of hesitancy mixed with the thrill of doing something new. All in all the riders arrived back safely having experienced the freedom of touring a portion of God’s wonderful country as one. It was definitely another year of treasured memories.
The gathering is a testimony to the fact that no matter how different we may be, we can all get together in the name of Jesus and have a glorious and peaceful experience. It was also an opportunity to witness and be a witness to those who do not know our Lord and Savior. As one Christian motorcycle organization so eloquently put it “We do not live to ride, we do not ride to live…..We live and we ride for Jesus Christ. Amen
