We are looking for someone to write content about the upcoming 2009 US Open Golf tournament. This consists of the following elements:
1. Event Preview. Looks at current likely set of participants, briefly summarizes the favorites to win the tournament: 250 words.
2. Original event history. Talks about the history of the US Open Golf tournament, describes the origins and looks at how the event developed into what it is today: 750 words.
3. Notable US Open Golf tournaments. Talk about historically notable Opens. Cover 5-7 individual tournaments, writer's discretion: 750 words.
4. Event Guide: This section is to provide potential attendees with information that they would find useful when attending the event. Cover the course (Bethpage Black), with location, transportation, and security information (if applicable). Also cover the local area, (Farmingdale, NY) with things to do, attractions, and any notable eateries. 1000 words.

Word limits are minimums only, longer blocks of quality content would be fine within the agreed upon budget. Voice may be causal and not "salesy", the pages are meant to be informational in nature. Sports writing skills/experience are preferred but not required.
Content is to be delivered in Plain Text or HTML with minimal formatting.
