We are looking for a creative writer who has experience in casual or professional writing and also loves playing video games and understands the content that appears in games. We will be hiring on a per project basis where the freelancer will hold the position of main script-writer for the duration of the mobile game’s development, reporting directly to the Senior Scriptwriter that oversees all of the game projects’ story and world design.
- Writers will be using the approved worldview and story outline to create content that will be implemented into the game
- Content can vary based on how the story is implemented in-game and includes but is not limited to:
Scripted in-game events
Story portions that maybe split into section based on gameplay
Game UI wording
Script for audio
- For each project, the freelancer will be expected to tailor content to the specific game project and ensure that content is continuous, uses the same terminology and continues the same tone throughout.
Game types may include but are not limited to: Role-playing games, tower defense, simulation/time-management, strategy, player-vs-player battle arenas and action based games. Interested parties will be asked about their gaming background and past work/writing that they have done in the past. Questions about the game and world are encouraged – a deeper understanding of the game leads to higher quality content.
Work is project driven and may vary week by week based on game development progress. Project payment rates will be based on milestones as the game progresses but we are open to switching over to an hourly rate for payments once the freelancer shows their ability to complete the milestones with quality and becomes more involved in the project content.
Please let us know if you have interest and feel you are qualified to work on mobile game writing. We expect to have specific game project work posted by early March 2017.
