Hi, Designing for 150°C ambient is not standard PCB design; it falls into the realm of Automotive Grade 0 and Downhole/Aerospace electronics. I can design a ruggedized Frequency-to-I2C board that survives this environment without delaminating or drifting. Most designers will use standard FR4 and industrial chips. That will fail because standard FR4 has a Glass Transition (Tg) of ~135°C. At 150°C, the board loses mechanical strength and vias will crack under vibration. My Engineering Strategy for 150°C: 1. Substrate & Reliability: I will strictly specify High-Tg FR4 (Tg > 170°C) or Polyimide. This ensures the board remains rigid and mechanically stable at 150°C, which is critical for your "high vibration" requirement. 2. Component Sourcing (The Hard Part): Finding an MCU that runs at 150°C is the challenge. I will source AEC-Q100 Grade 0 components (rated -40°C to +150°C). If a specific Grade 0 MCU is unavailable for the budget, I will implement a design using specialized High-Temp logic or Analog Devices/TI "Enhanced Product" (EP) lines, ensuring we don't exceed junction temperature limits. 3. Vibration Ruggedization: I will use "Teardrop" pad reinforcement on all vias and pads to prevent cracking during thermal cycling and vibration.
