Hi There,
We're a London based UK Internet of Things Start-up thats designing smart sensors that measure the real-time activity in a physical location (customer numbers, behaviour, sound levels etc). We then use this data to help small businesses perform better whilst simultaneously providing consumers with real-time insight into whats happening at that location.
We're looking for an industrial designer to improve on some previous designs we contracted to have made.
The design is for a 2 part system that consists of a sensor unit enclosure and a hub unit enclosure. The sensor unit is meant to be mounted above a doorway and it communicated over POE back to the hub unit that is plugged in at the mains.
The electronics contained within the enclosure have already be digitally created in CAD and can be used during the design process. Furthermore, we have CAD designs for a number of concept enclosures themselves that can be used for reference but we also have some specific guidance to provide for this next phase of design. (See attached for current design stage and feel).
We're looking for an experienced industrial designer, a good communicator and a freelancer that can pick up this 70% complete design process and finish it as soon as possible. We're looking for someone who is able to work in an agile and iterative manner to ensure our designs are fully optimised and ready for prototype production.
The enclosures should be designed with manufacturing in mind and able to be moulded. We may require minor alterations to the electronics themselves and mounting angles so be prepared to iterate on the designs a few times as we receive more guidance from the electronics tests themselves. Similarly, it it makes sense to adjust the electronic designs for the aesthetic appearance, we can get our engineers to adjust them to fit accordingly.
Additional experience with packaging design, animations and digital marketing renderings would be of interest and we hope to begin a fruitful longterm relationship with the successful applicant should the designs be to the level that we expect.
